How do the appointments work?
Assessments commonly take 1-1.25 hrs and follow-ups are 45-60 minutes. In that time, I’ll first ask you about what brings you in and/or how you’re progressing. Then, commonly, I get your consent to look at how you move and how your muscles and tissues are working. We then discuss the involved anatomy (sometimes we look at charts), and what new treatments, habits and exercises will get you toward your goals.

Is it possible to have an appointment outside your regular schedule?
Not usually. I am happy to put you in touch with other therapists whose hours might be a better fit for you if mine aren’t.

Can I bring someone with me to my appointment?
While COVID-19 restrictions are in place, only immobile young infants or adult support persons are allowed to accompany clients to their appointment.

How do you take payment?
Cash, cheque or e-transfer. Debit and credit card payments are not accepted. Payment is due at time of service. I am open to discussing deferred payments and barter.

Are you covered by insurance?
As a BC-registered physiotherapist, my services are covered by benefits that provide physiotherapy coverage; check your policy as amounts can vary.  I am only able to direct bill Pacific Blue Cross and Medavie.  Clients under other insurance companies will be required to pay upfront and submit for reimbursement.  BC residents on MSP Premium Assistance are eligible for partial provincial coverage.

Do you have a bathroom onsite?
Yes!

What other things do you have to make my appointment comfortable?
I use real bedding, including flannel sheets and blankets.

How long should I expect my appointment to take?
Initial appointments are usually 1-1.25 hours. Follow-ups are 45 minutes to 1 hour.

What should I wear to an appointment?
For any physiotherapy problem, clothes that allow you to move easily are best.

I have to cancel or change my appointment. What should I do?
Ideally, go to the booking application, and change/reschedule there. Otherwise, please send me a text or email. During COVID-19 restrictions, my fee policy has changed but my expectation of your prompt notification of cancellations remains the same.
